This process below is for Secondlife characters and RP in SL. One is for non-official characters, and the other is for official characters.

Non-Official Characters

1. Read through ALL the rules, world material, and select a race and your sin type from the world information.
2. Join the RP group “House of the Crimson Wings RP” in Secondlife
3. Create an avatar or buy/assemble one that represents your choices above and is within appearance/avatar rules that you read in step 1. Remember, you need to dress with your sin colour in mind.
4. Craft a short background story so you have something you can throw out to engage others, specifically around your sin.
5. Jump in and play, just remember nothing you do is permanent to anyone. They will forget you existed unless you make a great impression on them as a player.

Official Characters

1. Read through the rules, world material, and select a race and your sin type from the world information.
2. Join the RP group “House of the Crimson Wings RP” in Secondlife
3. Create an avatar or buy/assemble one that represents your choices above and is within appearance/avatar rules that you read in step 1. Remember, you need to dress with your sin colour in mind.
4. Build a detailed background for your character, with lots of storyline friendly plothooks and GM tidbits. Pay special attention to your sin and the reasons for your sin sickness.Create goals and challenges to suggest for your character to do and accomplish.
5. Obtain and fill out the official character sheet for the game. You can obtain this from the In-world kiosk just outside the RP area in Therianation.
6. Take a snapshot of your avatar and imbed it in the notecard.
7. Send your application and snapshot to Myst Panther or drop it in the notebox and a GM will review your application.
8. You will be contacted by a GM who will discuss your character and ideas further if there are any issues, concerns, or questions about your application. There might be a quiz on rules and/or setting lore.
9. You will be approved and assigned a title in the RP group for your approved character.
10. Play with permanent impacts and participate in storyline RPs devised by the GMs.

Advice for new players before you make a character

• Go and explore the game area as guest or tourist for a little while, get a sense of the environment, explore.
• Observe other player’s avatars for ideas
• Ask questions of other players or GMs if they are available if you are uncertain about anything from setting, to rules, to character ideas
• Join the RP group “”House of the Crimson Wings RP” and ask in chat questions if you don’t see anyone in the RP area. Its also good to join if you just want news or updates on the rp in general.
• Make sure you READ EVERYTHING very carefully and thoroughly. That includes this website and the notecards in world.
• Check out the website for ideas for costumes, lore, and articles on RPing and the game in general.
